The core idea
Organisations operate under two clocks: the environmental decision window and organisational resolution time. The first is the period during which action retains value. The second is the time the organisation requires to integrate information sufficiently to decide.
Environmental decision window
How long does action retain value?
Organisational resolution time
How long does a conclusion take?
When organisational resolution time exceeds the period during which action retains value, the organisation may eventually reach the correct conclusion and still fail.
A connection, with limits
Organisations are not conscious organisms, but they face a related control problem. Information must be filtered, prioritised and converted into action before the external opportunity disappears. The shared question is what happens when the time needed to resolve uncertainty exceeds the time available to act.
The structural comparison begins with Valence Under Temporal Constraint.
This is a transfer of a question across domains, not a claim of shared experience or identical mechanisms. Organisational priorities and decision processes must be examined on their own terms.
